Surviving Eclipse Season

Even If You Don’t Like Them

Eclipse Season is upon us once again!

I don’t like eclipses.

Historically, shit always went down during this time. Imagine being stuck in between two worlds with no good option. The eclipses of last year were horrendous. Brutal. Massacre-reminiscent.

As its name suggests, the eclipse eclipses light.

On a personal level, I survived the events in my own life by letting go of control. I simply accepted what was and allowed myself to be carried by the waves of change. I focused on my breath and on the present moment. I didn’t try to force things or control the outcome of events because I knew that what was to come was out of my hands. What would be will be and relegated into the hands of fate.

A shadow loomed over me during that time, a shadow of despair, uncertainty and fear.

The eclipse forced me to confront my deepest fears and to let go of everything that was no longer serving me. I didn’t want to, of course. But even if you don’t, the eclipse has a way of doing it for you.

In the months that followed, I learned to trust the darkness. Even leaned on it. I accepted it for what it was. Then I found that it was within the darkness, that I found my light.

In the greater scope of the fabric of human conscientiousness, eclipses are generally omens that signify the death of the king prior and a new successor.

Powerful people are also born under eclipses. Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Donald Trump are all born under eclipses. Like them or not, they are powerful people.

Solar Eclipse with the Moon in the sign of Libra, conjunct the South Node and forming a square to Pluto

SOLAR ECLIPSE

The next Solar Eclipse is during the New Moon on Oct 14-15 depending on where you are on earth. That’s in 4-5 days, so be prepared.

New Moons typically represent working up towards a new beginning in something. There will be a new start.

In the sign of Libra, it brings themes of partnerships that involves another party or union. It involves understanding the perspective of another with grace and diplomacy.

Not only that, it’s conjunct the South Node. It’s giving a familiar pattern that needs to be opened up again that is relevant to past tendencies. South Node represents something that we are very used to doing and it feels familiar. You’re probably tired of this past pattern but it will show up.

NOT ONLY THAT, it’s also forming a square to Pluto. Well we all know famous Pluto is that time bomb waiting to explode at any minute. There will be a need to transform and release old patterns and beliefs. This is a challenging aspect and will bring tension and conflict. It will not be pretty. It makes me want to puke. And that’s what it is. Purgatory.

This solar eclipse feels more like a new beginning with the joining of forces but also having to work with the energy of something from the past that feels “familiar”. It’s making us aware of any old patterns we’ve formed with the ones closest to us, be it codependency or people-pleasing, and telling us that it could be hindering us or holding us back.

Lunar Eclipse with the Moon in the sign of Taurus, conjunct Jupiter

LUNAR ECLIPSE

The next lunar eclipse is a Full Moon on Oct 29. That’s the day towards Halloween, so get ready. Spooky season for sure. Full moons typically represent the culmination of a point and the beginning of the winding down of a phase or closing of a cycle. They are endings, although this one kind of feels like a nice happy ending.

The Moon also conjuncts Jupiter so it shows me a bit of optimism and abundance. Jupiter is a benefic planet that amplifies and multiplies.

Taurusean energies is the focus of the eclipse. It brings themes of the material. Money. Resources. Quality. Reliability. Like a nice sturdy leather bag you carry everywhere. It’s super chic but also very classy. It’s durable and lasts a long time. It smells like you paid a lot for it. You will probably look cool carrying it to the airport lounge while you fly in business class. That’s Taurus.

Compared to that brutal solar eclipse in the beginning of the month, this lunar eclipse towards the end of the month is definitely a nice chapter-ending and happy high point that points to the re-evaluation of values around the themes of money, finance, security, value, or something we’ve been building for a while.

This will be the last of the Scopio/Taurus axis eclipse cycle since November 2021 and will move into the Aries/Libra axis cycle from now till 2025. Finally, I am done with themes of power and control! Move on please! Next! Moving on to the the next cycle!

Overall the energy of this eclipse doesn’t feel too bad. Just be extra cautious around this time and I wouldn’t generally start anything new or crazy during this time. I’d probably stay in as much as I can.
